The Nest

The Ballard Studio was spacious, clean and well maintained, nicely furnished, and the owner included very nice amenities in the kitchen and bath as well as a washer and dryer, all at our disposal. Our only discomfort was that the studio is not air conditioned and there is only one small window, which opens to the busy street, and no cross ventilation. A tower fan that is in the room proved to be noisy and unreliable. So, sleeping there on a warm night was not that refreshing. The only interior lighting is provided by ceiling cans. There is no light near the bed, which is on the opposite end of the studio from where the light switches are, and no light around the kitchen sink or counter. Lastly, the motion-sensitive light outside the entry door did not go on as expected when we came in at night or left for the airport at 3 am, and the entry door is in a bit of a dark place off the parking area.
