| A
day trip through picturesque farm country
to the historic port of Albany including
an optional cruise and coastal sightseeing.
Travelling
south we leave the city limits through
Armadale to ascend the Darling Range
with views over native Jarrah forests.
Journeying on through typical West Australian
sheep and wheat farming country we pass
through Kojonup township with scenic
views of the Stirling Ranges en route.
Travelling on via Mount Barker we reach
the historic port of Albany, Western
Australia's first European settlement.
Here you have free time for a cafe lunch
(own expense) and wander through the
town centre featuring pioneer era architecture
and quaint little shops.
We
then take in some coastal sightseeing
visiting the renowned landforms The
Gap and Natural Bridge both formed by
the relentless surf of the rugged Great
Southern Ocean. This afternoon visit
to Whale World and enjoy a guided tour
through their whaling museum, followed
by a visit to the regional Wind Farm.
Returning to Albany we head up to Mount
Clarence for panoramic views over Albany
and King George Sound waterway before
a drive by Middleton Beach. En route
home we stop at Mt Romance Emu Oil Cosmetic
Factory for a guided tour of the factory
and a browse through their gift shop.
